Trailer – “The Marvels”

Disney and Marvel Studios has released the official trailer for Nia DaCosta’s “The Marvels” starring Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon. The film will be released in theaters on November 10th.

Plot Synopsis: In Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels,” Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”

What do you all think of the trailer?

I know it’s easy to be harsh toward Marvel nowadays, but I like this trailer’s tone and approach toward the “Captain Marvel” sequel. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first film, but adding Teyonah Parris (“WandaVision“) and Iman Vellani (who was delightful on “Ms. Marvel”) alongside Brie Larson makes this look more entertaining. Samuel L. Jackson, Goose the Cat, and more familiar faces pop up, along with some new ones. Even though this is only a teaser, I’m more down to see what Nia DaCosta, one of the most exciting up-and-coming directors working today (“Little Woods” & “Candyman“), has in store for us. What do you all think, though? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments section below or on our Twitter account.
