A24 has released the trailer for Michael Sarnoski’s “The Death Of Robin Hood” starring Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. The film will be released in theaters in 2026.
Plot Synopsis: Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.
What do you all think of the trailer? I love that this is a gritty, dark, and older version of the legendary Robin Hood. It almost feels like it’s got a bit of “Logan” in there, considering the plot of a man past his prime, fighting for survival and one last chance at redemption after living a life of crime and murder. I love that A24 gives us films like this around Q2 or Q3 every year (think “The Green Knight“), and Sarnoski has proven twice now that he’s got the chops to pull something like this off. This, in some ways, almost feels like the grizzly, more brutal version of what some viewers were expecting from “Pig” before it took an unexpected turn into something more profound. Plus, Hugh Jackman is an actor I still find incredibly magnetic, especially when he plays pained characters, such as in the aforementioned “Logan” or “Prisoners.” I’m genuinely excited either way.
