The Next Best Picture Podcast – Interview With “Moonage Daydream” Re-Recording Mixers Paul Massey & David Giammarco

Moonage Daydream” had its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and later went on to play at the Toronto Film Festival, get acquired by NEON, become the first documentary in over 50 years to be shortlisted for Best Sound and made the Academy’s shortlist for Best Documentary Feature. It would go on to win Best Sound awards from the Cinema Audio Society and Cinema Eye Honors, and now it’s eligible for this year’s Emmy Awards over a year after it premiered. Re-recording sound mixers Paul Massey and David Giammarco were kind enough to spend a few minutes talking with us about working on Brett Morgen’s immersive David Bowie documentary, which you can listen to below. Be sure to check out the film, which is streaming Max and is up for your consideration for this year’s Emmy Awards. Thank you, and enjoy!
