2026 has had a much stronger year than the first half of 2025. We already recapped the best films of the year following Q1 of 2026. Now, with half of 2026 behind us, we have a list of 50 films to share with you all. If this is indicative of where the rest of the year is heading (judging by the quality of the film that screened at Cannes, we can already tell), and based on how the industry box office has bounced back compared to other years since the pandemic, we here at Next Best Picture can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
