The 2025 American Cinematheque Tribute To The Crafts Honorees

The American Cinematheque announced today the honorees for the 5th annual Tribute to the Crafts, which will take place on Friday, January 16th, 2026, at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Tribute to the Crafts honors those at the very heart of filmmaking who have exhibited extraordinary work behind the camera over the past year. This special evening will celebrate excellence across 13 categories, recognizing the major crafts that shape the best in film. Honorees were selected by a prestigious jury of journalists, film historians, and cinephiles representing the most respected outlets across the country.

Academy Award–nominated production designer Jack Fisk (“Marty Supreme“) will also receive the Career Achievement Award for his extraordinary body of work. Over the past five decades, Fisk has helped define modern cinematic world-building, known for crafting richly detailed, character-driven environments that feel both lived-in and emotionally resonant. Through his long-standing collaborations with visionary directors such as Terrence Malick, David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Martin Scorsese, and Josh Safdie, he has contributed to some of contemporary cinema’s most iconic films, including “There Will Be Blood,” “The Revenant,” “The Tree of Life,” “Mulholland Drive,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and, most recently, A24’s “Marty Supreme.”

The event will additionally recognize the late Andrew J. Kuehn Jr. with this year’s Unsung Hero Award. Andrew J. Kuehn Jr. was a trailblazing film marketing visionary, often called the “Godfather of Movie Trailers,” who reshaped the movie trailer industry, turning it into a powerful creative and commercial force over the course of his 43-year career. In honor of the posthumous award for Andrew J. Kuehn Jr., the American Cinematheque has added a new category, Best Trailer, selected by a special jury of experts in film marketing and trailer-making.

The event will be co-hosted by film producers and American Cinematheque Board Members Stephanie Allain (“Exhibiting Forgiveness,” “Dear White People,” “Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It”) and Paula Wagner (“Marshall,” the first three installments of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, “The Last Samurai,” “Vanilla Sky”).

“It was an incredible year at the movies, and there is no better place to watch the essential work of the artisans and craftspeople that shaped this year’s films than the cinema. Our jury had plenty of worthy selections to choose from,” said Grant Moninger, the American Cinematheque’s Artistic Director.
