Pixar Animation & Walt Disney Animation Studios have released the teaser trailer for Daniel Chong’s “Hoppers,” starring Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan & Jon Hamm. The animated film will be released in theaters next year on March 6th, 2026.
Plot Synopsis: What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film “Hoppers,” scientists have discovered how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! The adventure introduces Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.
What do you all think of the trailer? For those that have been complaining about Pixar becoming stale or repeating the same storytelling tropes over and over, this original film appears to have a fresh concept (despite the “Avatar” joke, which is actually quite clever for Pixar as they don’t tend to reference pop culture that much in their films) and an animation style which looks slightly different than what they’ve given us in the past. These two components alone make me very curious to see what Pixar has in store for this one; plus, the style, humor, and story are all very appealing. The animation, in particular, of the fur on the animals looks quite stunning, and I’m sure the voice performances will be a delight. But what do you think, though?
