Paramount Pictures has released the teaser trailer for the reboot of “The Naked Gun,” starring Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and Danny Huston. The film will be released in theaters on August 1st.
Plot Synopsis: Only one man has the particular set of skills… to lead Police Squad and save the world! Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson) follows in his father’s footsteps in THE NAKED GUN, directed by Akiva Schaffer (“Saturday Night Live” & “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping“) and from producer Seth MacFarlane (“Ted” & “Family Guy”).
What do you all think of the trailer? This has been so long in development that I wasn’t sure Liam Neeson would still be able to do this past a certain point, but I’m pretty pleased to see the creative direction this is taking. This is exactly what Liam Neeson’s career needed right now, as his typical old-man badass shtick was stale. While some may be hesitant about “The Naked Gun” receiving a legacyquel/re-boot, the creative team of Seth MacFarlane and director Akiva Schaffer gives me a ton of confidence this will deliver. There are already some funny gags in this teaser, and I look forward to seeing what else the full trailer will deliver when the time comes.
