Lionsgate has released the trailer for Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Long Walk,” starring Mark Hamill, Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, and Judy Greer. The film will have its wide release in theaters on September 12th, 2025.
Plot Synopsis: THE LONG WALK tells the story of on annual contest in which 100 teenage boys undergo a journey requiring them to maintain a fast pace, resulting in one sole survivor.

The combination of “The Hunger Games” master Francis Lawrence with literary giant Stephen King’s story is certainly a duo to highly anticipate. With an ensemble cast such as this, it opens up lots of room for the possibility of interesting and unique character dynamics to really drive the narrative. Upon hearing the sharp turn in tone in this trailer, birthed from playing with the musical elements and a close-up on Cooper Hoffman’s dread-filled face, the film’s raw and brutal energy is immediately clear to the viewer. This trailer feels intriguing due to the team involved both behind and in front of the camera, and looks like a welcome addition to the line up of thrillers to release this summer and autumn.
