Warner Bros. Pictures has released the full trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, and Benicio del Toro. The film will be released in theaters and in IMAX on September 26th.
Plot Synopsis: When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own daughters.
What do you all think of the trailer? Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the greatest filmmakers alive and has given us countless masterpieces ever since his feature directorial debut, “Hard Eight.” “One Battle After Another” appears to be the most ambitious film he’s made yet, which will benefit greatly from an IMAX release. The film looks like the most action-packed he’s given us yet and blends his love for absurd comedy with high-stakes drama in a way I’m sure will entertain. It could also confound, just as his last Thomas Pynchon adaptation, “Inherent Vice” did. DiCaprio looks to be delivering another fun, against-type performance that reminded me of his work on Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood,” and I’ve been hearing great things about Sean Penn in this. The September 26th release could mean either a Cannes, Venice, or even a TIFF world premiere, but I’m leaning towards Venice. Regardless, this is hands down one of my most anticipated films of the year. What do you think though? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below or on our X account.
