NEON has released the teaser trailer for Osgood Perkins’ “Longlegs” starring Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt & Blair Underwood. The film will be released in theaters on July 12th.
Plot Synopsis: Lee Harker, a talented new FBI agent, has been assigned to an unsolved case of a serial killer. As the investigation becomes more complicated and occult evidence is uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the ruthless killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder.
What do you all think of the trailer? I love NEON’s marketing approach to this film so far, where very little is being disclosed about the film’s plot. What do you think of the trailer? Everything from the posters to this teaser has done a great job of building up anticipation for what this film could potentially be. Is a Cannes world premiere even possible? Maybe. The tone, cinematography, and pedigree of Monroe and Cage may lend itself to such a platform before its release over the summer. Osgood did, pardon the pun, a good job with “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” and “Gretel & Hansel,” and although not perfect, there is a lot of talent there. Let’s see how it plays out this time.
