Trailer – “How To Make A Killing”

A24 has released the trailer for the latest film from John Patton Ford, “How To Make A Killing,” starring Glen Powell, Margaret Qualley, Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, and Ed Harris. The film will be released in theaters on February 20th, 2026.

Plot Synopsis: Disowned at birth by his obscenely wealthy family, blue-collar Becket Redfellow (Glen Powell) will stop at nothing to reclaim his inheritance, no matter how many relatives stand in his way.

What do you all think of the trailer? I personally really enjoyed John Patton Ford’s previous film, “Emily The Criminal,” and have been waiting for his follow-up ever since. I see a lot of people saying this feels like “A Gentlemen’s Guide To Murder,” which isn’t too far off considering the script was loosely inspired by the 1949 British film “Kind Hearts and Coronets” by Robert Hamer and John Dighton, which was inspired by the original musical. Seeing Glen Powell in an A24 indie crime film is precisely the kind of range I want to see from the charismatic actor at this stage of his career. And having him paired with Margaret Qualley, with a twisted premise of a guy who goes to great lengths to murder members of his family so he can inherit his family’s fortune, this looks so much up my alley. The question is, will this premiere at Sundance before its theatrical release in February? Considering Ford’s last film did, it’s possible, but what do you think, though?
