Warner Bros. has released the trailer for James Gunn’s “Superman” starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince & Neva Howell. The film will be released in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
Plot Synopsis: “Superman,” DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
What do you all think of the teaser trailer? I cannot wait to see how James Gunn tells the story of Superman. I have found the recent attempts to bring the iconic DC character to the screen to be fascinating, with numerous high and low points. But in Gunn’s hands? I fully trust him to deliver in what is a “can’t mess it up” situation for the newly formed DC Studios under Gunn’s leadership. Visually, it looks right in line with what he delivered on “The Suicide Squad,” which I know will be a good thing or a poor thing for most people. You can’t please everyone, though. One thing that is coming through, though, despite the abundance of CGI characters, the adorable Krypto, and what one may think of the visual aesthetic, there’s no denying Gunn’s heart will be in the right place with a reverence for the character that you can already feel through the images we saw here. And with Corenswet, Brosnahan, and Hoult in the roles of Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor, respectively, I’m feeling pretty good overall that Gunn will nail this. What do you all think?
