Bleecker Street has released the trailer for Rob Reiner’s “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues,” starring Rob Reiner, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Questlove, and more. The film will be released in theaters on September 12th.

What do you all think of the trailer? I almost can’t believe this is real, but given that everyone is still around, Castle Rock Entertainment is up and running again, and Criterion is releasing “This Is Spinal Tap” on physical media very soon, I suppose the stars have aligned for the self-proclaimed world’s greatest rock band. I love how much of the sharp humor remains intact, and seeing Reiner, Guest, McKean, and Shearer all have fun again on screen is a delight, especially for fans of the original film. I’m not too sure I like that the new movie is shot digitally, but perhaps that’s part of the point, in showing how, as much as things change, they remain the same. Of course, there will be plenty of cameos, but will we get new songs? I assume we must be right? Well, if we do, I certainly hope they go to 11. What do you think, though?
