NEON has released the trailer for Michael Mohan’s “Immaculate” starring Sydney Sweeney, Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli & Simona Tabasco. The film will be released in theaters on March 22nd.
Plot Synopsis: A devoutly religious woman named Cecilia is offered a role at an illustrious convent in the Italian countryside. Her seemingly picture-perfect new home is soon revealed to hold horrifying secrets.
What do you all think of the trailer? Sydney Sweeney is undoubtedly a star on the rise, having recently appeared in the successful Emmy-winning series “The White Lotus” and the smash hit romantic comedy “Anyone But You.” It was only a matter of time before she got looped into doing a horror film for an indie distributor. Whether it was Searchlight, A24, or NEON, they typically make better horror films than the major studios, so there’s a somewhat surface level of interest here to see how Sweeney does within the confines of the genre. I was not too high on Michael Mohan’s last collaboration with Sydney Sweeney on “The Vouyers,” but I know that movie has its fans (even if it’s for the wrong reasons). We’ll see how this one plays out, but historically speaking, nuns plus horror tends to equal a good time at the movies. What do you think of the trailer?
