Trailer – “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”

Warner Bros. Discovery has released the official trailer for George Miller’s “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Alyla Browne & Tom Burke. The film will be released theatrically May 24th, 2024.

Plot Synopsis: As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

What do you all think of the trailer? “Mad Max: Fury Road” is, in my opinion, not just one of the greatest action films ever made, I think it’s THE best action film ever made. I think it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my whole life. So when George Miller announced he would be developing a prequel centered around Charlize Theron’s iconic Furiosa character before the events of “Fury Road” with Anya Taylor-Joy, my interest peaked immediately. However, after watching this trailer, I’m not as excited as I was hoping. I think much of my concern stems from my displeasure over the film’s visual aesthetic, mainly because “Fury Road” was shot by John Seale, and this one is shot by Simon Duggan. It has more of a glossy sheen that looks far more pristine than the previous film, and it’s making some of the other design elements stand out in a not-so-flattering way (mainly the visual effects). Hemsworth looks to be having a lot of fun, and overall, I’m happy to return to this world even if I think the quality looks lesser than but like I said, when you’re comparing yourself to one of the all-time-great films over the last century, you’re inevitably going to come up short in some areas. How do you all feel about this trailer? Are you excited for the film? Do you think it will have a world premiere at Cannes in 2024?
