“Top Gun: Maverick” has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time since its release earlier this year. Now, the film is a bonafide Oscar contender for multiple categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Tom Cruise), and many of its craft categories. One Oscar race where it’s been the frontrunner for almost the entire season has been in Best Original Song for Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand.” The rock, power ballad plays over the credits but has its music weaved in throughout the movie, giving her composer credit alongside Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe, and Harold Faltermeyer.
