The Golden Globes have announced their timeline, eligibility rules, and award categories for their 83rd annual ceremony, honoring the standout achievements in entertainment from 2025. The 2026 Golden Globe Awards, hosted again by Nikki Glaser (who received rave reviews for her hosting last year), will air live on Sunday, January 11th at 8pm ET on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
Among this year’s updates is the introduction of a new category: Best Podcast. The top 25 podcasts, as determined by data and analytics firm Luminate, will be considered, with six ultimately receiving nominations.
The Golden Globe Award nominations will be announced on Monday, December 8th at 8am ET. The complete rules and categories can be found here.Â
The January 11th ceremony date is the latest date the awards show has been held in the new year since 2023. The Critics Choice Awards will be instead held first this year on January 4th.

Friday, August 1st, 2025 – Submission website opens for 2026 Golden Globes Motion Picture and Television entries
Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 – Submission website opens for 2026 Golden Globes Podcast entries
Friday, October 31st, 2025 – The Motion Picture, Television, and Podcast submissions deadline is Friday, October 31st, 2025. Entries for the official Golden Globes Submissions must be completed online at https://goldenglobes.submit.live/
Monday, November 17th, 2025 – Deadline for Television and Podcast nomination ballots to be sent to all voters
Sunday, November 23rd, 2025 – Final date for Television and Podcast press conferences. Final date for Television and Podcast programs to be uploaded to the Golden Globes screening platform
Monday, November 24th, 2025 by 8:00 p.m. ET – Deadline for receipt of Television and Podcast nomination ballots by 5:00 p.m. PST
Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 – Deadline for Motion Picture and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement nomination ballots to be sent to all votersÂ
