The Golden Globes Announce The 25 Eligible Shows For The New “Best Podcast” Category For The 2026 Ceremony

The Golden Globes have revealed the 25 podcasts eligible for consideration in the awards show’s newly launched Best Podcast category, which will debut at the 83rd Golden Globes on January 11th, 2026.

The list includes some of the most popular and influential shows across genres, determined by direct data from leading podcast platforms such as Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and the Globes’ official data partner, Luminate. Eligible podcasts are invited to submit entries via the Golden Globes submissions site through October 31st, 2025.

“This year’s inaugural list of eligible programs for the new Best Podcast category reflects the incredible depth, diversity and creativity thriving in the podcasting world today,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. “From groundbreaking investigative series to deeply personal storytelling and innovative audio formats, this list showcases the power of podcasting to inform, entertain, and inspire audiences around the globe. The Golden Globes is proud to be the first major entertainment award to recognize this medium.”

Hoehne also emphasized the organization’s intent to embrace new forms of storytelling: “Podcasts have emerged as a profound medium for sharing narratives and building communities across global borders and generations. By celebrating achievements in both audio and visual podcasts, we aim to honor our heritage categories while making room for new voices and formats to be heard.”

The 25 eligible podcasts, in alphabetical order, are:

“20/20” (from ABC News)
“48 Hours” (from CBS News)
“Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard”
“Call Her Daddy”
“Candace”
“Crime Junkie”
“Dateline NBC”
“Good Hang with Amy Poehler”
“Morbid”
“MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories”
“Pardon My Take”
“Pod Save America”
“Rotten Mango”
“Shawn Ryan Show”
“SmartLess”
“Stuff You Should Know”
“The Ben Shapiro Show”
“The Bill Simmons Podcast”
“The Daily” (from The New York Times)
“The Joe Rogan Experience”
“The Megyn Kelly Show”
“The Mel Robbins Podcast”
“The Tucker Carlson Show”
“This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von”
“Up First” from NPR

Nominations for Best Podcast, along with other categories, will be announced at a later date. The winners will be revealed during the Golden Globes ceremony, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, airing live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.
