The Locarno International Film Festival is one of the world’s prominent film festivals, taking place every year in Locarno, Switzerland. Established in 1946, it showcases a wide range of films across both competitive and non-competitive sections, including narrative features, documentaries, shorts, experimental works, and retrospectives. Earlier today the lineup for the 78th edition was announced. The fest will screen 221 films, including 99 world premieres. Jackie Chan is set to receive a lifetime achievement award, Emma Thompson will be honored with the Leopard Club Award, while Lucy Liu will be recognized with a career achievement accolade. The festival will take place August 6th-16th.
