New Additions To The 2025 Cannes Film Festival Include Films From Kristen Stewart, Lynne Ramsay & Ethan Coen

As expected, some last-minute additions were needed for this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and now we have them added across the film festival in different sections. Many exciting choices have been added, including Lynne Ramsay’s psychological thriller “Die My Love,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson. The film, which screened for the Cannes selection committee after the official April 10th press conference, is based on Ariana Harwicz’s debut novel and marks Ramsay’s return to the Croisette following her acclaimed 2017 feature “You Were Never Really Here.” Also joining the festival is Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut “The Chronology of Water,” which will screen in the Un Certain Regard section, while Ethan Coen’s “Honey Don’t” starring Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza will be in the Midnight Screenings lineup. Also In Competition, Saeed Roustaee’s “Mother and Child” has been added, while Un Certain Regard will also showcase Anna Cazenave Cambet’s “Love Me Tender,” Simón Mesa Soto’s “Un Poeta,” and Pedro Pinho’s “O Riso E A Faca (Le Rire et le Couteau).” Meanwhile, “Renai Saiban” by Kōji Fukada, Hlynur Pálmason’s “Ástin Sem Eftir Er,” and Lav Diaz’s “Magalhãeshave” been selected for the Cannes Premiere section. No mention of Jim Jarmsuch, Park Chan-wook, or Nadav Lapid this year as they were either not ready in time or not selected and thus, will have to premiere elsewhere later this year. There’s still hope that Bi Gan’s “Resurrection” gets added at the last minute sometime next week but even if it doesn’t, what we have already is more than enough to make this year’s lineup potentially an all-timer.
