The union’s highest honor recognizes Ford’s extraordinary career as one of Hollywood’s most enduring and successful actors. He will receive the tribute at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards, streaming live on Netflix on Sunday, March 1st, 2026.
“I am deeply honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award,” Ford said. “To be acknowledged by my fellow actors means a great deal to me. I’ve spent most of my life on film sets, working alongside incredible actors and crews, and I’ve always felt grateful to be part of this community.”
Presented annually to an actor who embodies the “finest ideals of the acting profession,” the Life Achievement Award has previously been bestowed upon Mary Tyler Moore, Sidney Poitier, Betty White, Jane Fonda, Robert De Niro, Elizabeth Taylor, and James Earl Jones.

Over the course of his career, Ford has received numerous honors, including the Critics’ Choice Career Achievement Award (2024), the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award (2002), and the AFI Life Achievement Award (2000). Most recently, he earned an Emmy nomination for his work on Apple TV’s “Shrinking.”
