Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official trailer for “Evil Dead Burn,” starring Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, Maude Davey, George Pullar, and Greta Van Den Brink. The film will be released in theaters July 10th.
Plot Synopsis: “Evil Dead Burn” unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date, blazing onto big screens with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life… live on even in death.
What do you all think of the trailer? The “Evil Dead” franchise is one of the best running in Hollywood today, as, in my opinion, it has never produced a bad film. And everything I’m seeing here in the latest installment looks to honor the traditions of what people want from this horror franchise, which is lots of gore, lots of squeamish, violent, and torturous moments of sick pleasure, while allowing for a director to just go off behind the camera, which is exactly what it looks like Sébastien Vaniček is doing here. The last film, “Evil Dead Rise,” was pretty well-received by all of us here at Next Best Picture, and I hope that the streak continues here with “Evil Dead Burn.” The teaser previously released suggested this would be technically ambitious while still staying true to the horror franchise’s roots of feeling self-contained, intimate, and downright terrifying in its brutality.
