Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for Reinaldo Marcus Green’s “Bob Marley: One Love” starring Kingsley Ben-Adir, Lashana Lynch, James Norton, Tosin Cole, Anthony Welsh, Michael Gandolfini, Umi Myers & Nadine Marshall. The film will be released in theaters on January 12th, 2024.

What do you all think of the trailer? Kingsley Ben-Adir was absolutely magnetic in Regina King’s “One Night In Miami…” and Lashana Lynch is one of the most exciting actors working today. Even though this trailer was filled with every cliched beat you’d expect to see in a major studio-produced musical biopic, their presence alone is what’s getting me hooked. Knowing Reinaldo Marcus Green is in the director’s chair is comforting because he’s proven to be a reliable, steady filmmaker who highlights his actors above all else, such as in “King Richard” and “Monsters And Men.” But then there’s “Joe Bell,” which, although sincere, came across as bland and tone-deaf. Also, the release date is curious to me. Are Paramount Pictures choosing to skip awards season altogether? Will this receive a qualifying release toward the end of the year before going wide in January? Will it skip the fall film festivals? What do you all think?
