Trailer – “Blink Twice”

Amazon MGM Studios has released the trailer for Zoë Kravitz’s feature directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Kyle MacLachlan, Alia Shawkat, Christian Slater & Geena Davis. The film will be released in theaters on August 23rd.

Plot Synopsis: When tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun-soaked days, and everyone’s having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. There is something wrong with this place. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.

What do you all think of the trailer? I love how this trailer started off as what seemed to be a dark comedy but progressively got darker and darker before divulging into full-blown thriller territory. In a way, it feels almost like watching a more twisted version of “Glass Onion” without the presence of detective Benoit Blanc to help nail down who the murderer is. Kravitz looks like she has some impressive chops behind the camera, and I’m sure her screenplay, which she co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum, will weave in a lot of social commentary laced with humor and an entertaining cast. A combination of established names with on-screen magnetism could draw you into a film led by them, but together, everyone looks like they’re having a fun time with this material. What do you all think, though? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments section below or on our Twitter account.
