“Pinocchio” was one of the ten films to be shortlisted at this year’s Academy Awards for Best Makeup & Hairstyling. With a staggered release that has spanned back to 2019, it’s not surprising if many haven’t heard or seen this film yet. However, the work by Prosthetic Makeup Designer, Mark Coulier, and Makeup Artist, Dalia Colli, is truly a powerhouse and should not be underestimated when looking at this year’s crop of contenders. Imaginative and varied in its application and use, the makeup and hairstyling of “Pinocchio” is a detailed sight to behold. The makeup team was kind enough to talk to us about their work on the film.
