Though the film may have received a mixed reception since its premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, composer Trevor Gureckis’ score for “The Goldfinch” was continuously pointed out as a highlight. A new sound in the world of composing this decade, Trevor previously worked alongside Phillip Glass and Kanye West before moving full time to film score composing. More of his work can be heard on Apple TV’s newest show “Servant,” Netflix’s “Bloodline” and the upcoming sci-fi Neil Burger film “Voyagers.” Trevor was kind enough to talk to us about his work on “The Goldfinch” which we would argue is sublime and should not be discounted for awards consideration.
