The Next Best Picture Podcast: Episode 353 – Barbenheimer, Film Festival Uncertainty & The Trailer For “The Holdovers”

For Episode 353, I am joined by Lauren LaMagnaJosh ParhamLauren Cohen & Dan Bayer. Together, we discuss how the theatrical releases of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” have been taking theaters by storm this weekend with the cultural phenomenon known as “Barbenheimer.” We also discuss the recent changes to the Venice Film Festival by pulling “Challengers” and delaying its theatrical release to 2024 and what this might mean for the rest of the fall film festivals and the studios’ theatrical releases as the SAG-AFTRA & WGA strikes continue. We also give our reactions to the trailer for “The Holdovers,” go over the polls, answer your fan-submitted questions, and more! Thank you all for your continued support (which you can also share through the Entertainment Community Fund for SAG & WGA members here), and enjoy!
