Pedro Pascal Is In Talks To Star In Ridley Scott’s Upcoming “Gladiator” Sequel

According to Deadline, Pedro Pascal is in final negotiations to star in the already stacked ensemble for director Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Gladiator” sequel. While little is known about Pascal’s role in the film, he will be working on this massive production before he begins to work on the second season of HBO’s acclaimed drama “The Last of Us.”

Pascal joins the already-announced Paul Mescal (recent Best Actor Oscar-nominee for “Aftersun“), who will star as the film’s lead Lucius (portrayed by Spencer Treat Clark in the original film), and an array of talented co-stars such as Denzel Washington (“The Tragedy Of Macbeth“), Barry Keoghan (“The Banshees Of Inisherin“), Connie Nielsen (reprising her role from “Gladiator“), and Joseph Quinn (“Stranger Things“). David Scarpa has written the screenplay, and Scott will take up producing duties as well as directing.

Every time there is a casting announcement for this film, our excitement only continues to build from what was initially extreme skepticism. This will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated films of whichever year it is slated to come out. While many scoffed at the idea of there being a sequel to the Oscar Best Picture-winning “Gladiator,” Scott appears to be pulling out all the stops to cast such an exciting cast that it will make even the most skeptical viewer want to go out and purchase a ticket. Of course, little needs to be said about Pascal, who’s charmed audiences as everyone’s favorite masked bounty hunter, sexy Dornishman, and over-protective (but intensely violent) surrogate father. We can’t wait to see what different sides of his talent he’ll reveal to us next.

What do you think about Pedro Pascal joining the “Gladiator” sequel? Is there an actor that could get you even more excited about this project than you already are? Please let us know in the comments section below or over on our Twitter account.
