Notable Films Excluded From The 2017 WGA Awards

By Matt Neglia

Every year, the Writers Guild Of America finds a way to get certain high-profile Oscar contenders disqualified from their end of year awards due to their strict rules and guidelines (Quentin Tarantino has famously never been nominated by the WGA). This year is no exception as we now know which films will not be among those nominated Thursday January 4th 2018.

Click below to see.

In the original category, 59 screenplays are eligible but films missing from the list include…

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Darkest Hour
Breathe
Coco
The Killing Of A Sacred Deer

In the adapted category, 47 films are eligible but notable misses include…

Victoria & Abdul
“Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool”

So based on these exclusions, which films do you think will be nominated for the WGA and which films do you think will win? let us know in the comments below.
