The Visual Effects race has officially been narrowed down to 20 films. Later this month, the committee will narrow this list down to 10.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”
“The Shape of Water”
“Spider-Man Homecoming”
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”
“Thor: Ragnarok”
“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”
“War for the Planet of the Apes”
“Wonder Woman”
After the next 10 are selected, all members of the branch will be invited to a screening of clips from those 10 films and then the final ballots will be casted, thus giving us our five nominees forBest Visual Effects.
