The Next Best Picture Podcast – “Captain Phillips”

By Matt Neglia

As the Oscar season of 2020 comes to a close, we now find ourselves in our 2013 retrospective. The first film on the list we are reviewing is the Paul Greengrass-directed Best Picture nominee “Captain Phillips” starring Tom Hanks and Barkhad Abdi. How well does the film hold up today nearly ten years later? What did we think of the performances? The writing? Action and tension? Joining me for this podcast retrospective review, I have Nicole Ackman, Josh Parham & Ryan C. Showers. We hope you enjoy our first of many discussions on the film year that was 2013. Thank you!
