If You Were An Oscar Voter For The 97th Academy Awards – NBP Team Results

When Oscar voting started, we asked you to imagine yourselves as Academy members, with Oscar ballots in hand, and cast your own choices for who you’d want to see win at the 97th Academy Awards on March 2nd. Over 1800 of you voted, and the results will be announced tomorrow. But until then, the NBP Team did the same thing (with our very small group of 14 people), and now, we’re unveiling our winners. We used preferential balloting for Best Picture, and all other categories were done using a plural voting system. Will any of these translate on Oscar night? Not with the number of ties we have, seeing as how we have an even number of members at NBP. Please take a look at the Next Best Picture team’s latest Oscar winner predictions here and our personal winners from this year’s nominees below.

A few things to note…

  • Anora” won on the final round of voting on the preferential ballot.
  • There were no runner-up’s in Best Director because Brady Corbet and Coralie Fargeat received all of the votes in a dead even split.
  • The biggest blowout was Best Makeup & Hairstyling. The closest race overall with a decisive winner was Best Production Design.
  • The closest above-the-line race was Best Actress.
  • Other than Best Director, Best Original Score was the only category where two nominees received votes.

What do you think of the winners? Do you think any of these will translate to the actual Oscar winners on March 2nd? Stay tuned for the NBP Film Community Winners tomorrow.
