Clint Eastwood’s “Juror #2” May Be Moving Forward With Nicholas Hoult & Toni Collette

Deadline is reporting that Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette are in final negotiations to star in Clint Eastwood’s latest feature “Juror #2.” Johnathan Abrams wrote the screenplay while Eastwood is set to get back in the saddle as director. Warner Bros. is looking to give the film the green light to move forward with production. It will likely be Clint Eastwood’s final film.

The story takes place during a murder trial where a juror begins to slowly realize he may have been responsible for the reckless driving crime they’re deliberating. Without incriminating himself, the juror attempts to save the defendant and himself by manipulating the jury and anyone else. Hoult is set to play the juror, while Collette is set to play the district attorney. No other casting announcements have been made at this moment.

This film’s premise sounds like it could be really engaging, which would be a far cry from Eastwood’s latest work as of late since “Richard Jewell.” I wasn’t the biggest fan of Eastwood’s last feature, “Cry Macho,” which will likely stand as the final time we see the legendary actor and director on screen again. However, I’m sure a film legend like him has one more left in the tank when it comes to his work behind the camera. At 92 years old, it’s amazing that he’s still making films. Either way, I’m very excited to see if it becomes a reality and hopefully gives him the swan song his career deserves.

What do you think of the premise for “Juror #2?” Who do you think should be cast as the other jurors? Please let us know in the comments section below or over on our Twitter account.
