Amazon Studios & MGM has released the official trailer for Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn” starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Carey Mulligan & Ewan Mitchell. The film will have its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and will have a limited theatrical run on November 24th, before expanding wide on December 1st.
Plot Synopsis: Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) develops an infatuation with the charismatic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to meet his aristocratic but eccentric family over the summer.
What do you all think of the trailer? Emerald Fennell’s “Promising Young Woman” was my no. 1 favorite film of 2020, and now we finally have a trailer to show what her follow-up film will look and feel like. The colorful cinematography by Academy Award-winning DP Linus Sandgren looks sumptuous, while the film has a sexy aura about it that feels dangerous and alluring. Barry Keoghan is a tremendous young talent, as is Jacob Elordi (although, outside of “Euphoria” he has failed to impress me so far), and with a supporting cast that includes Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Carey Mulligan, and Ewan Mitchell, this looks like a massive step up from Fennell’s directorial debut. This is easily my most anticipated film of the Telluride Film Festival, and I cannot wait to see what shocking twists Fennell has in store for us this time. What do you all think, though?
