Searchlight Pictures has released the trailer for Yorgos Lanthimos’s “Kinds Of Kindness” starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie & Hunter Schafer. The anthology film will be released in theaters on June 21st.
Plot Synopsis: “Kinds Of Kindness” is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
What do you all think of the teaser trailer? Hot off the awards season success of “Poor Things,” anticipation could not be any higher for another Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone reunion. But that’s not all. Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley are rejoining with “The Favourite” co-star Joe Alwyn. Newcomers to the whacky, dark but brilliant mind of Lanthimos include Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie & Hunter Schafer. Although this teaser doesn’t reveal much regarding what the film (or films within this anthology film) is about, you can already tell the visual style and storytelling harkens back more to Lanthimos’ work on “Dogtooth,” “The Lobster” and “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer.” Expect this one to be twisted, filled with black humor, and visually slick as all Lanthimos films are. Given the film’s release date, a Cannes Film Festival world premiere announcement on April 11th feels inevitable. But what do you all think, though? Are you excited?
