The 2014 retrospective continues this week with not only one of the year’s most acclaimed independent films but one of the year’s best films in general. Damien Chazelle’s second feature-length film “Whiplash” premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and went on to earn 5 Academy Award nominations including 3 wins. We talk about the film’s themes, its characters, its craft and even dish out some criticism as well. Joining me for this intense podcast review I have Amanda Spears, Josh Parham, Dan Bayer & Patreon guest Connor Olen. Also be sure to check out our other 2014 reviews of “Selma,” “Ida,” “Foxcatcher,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Wild” & “Inherent Vice.”
