By Dan Bayer & Will Mavity
“Palm Springs” was one of the breakout hits from this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Acquired by NEON for $17.5 million, representing the largest acquisition in the festival’s history, the entertaining romantic-comedy is coming to Hulu this Friday, July 10th, 2020. Starring Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, Peter Gallagher & J.K. Simmons, the film utilizes the “Groundhog Day” premise to show two people caught in an infinite time loop during a wedding in Palm Springs. Dan Bayer interviews director Matt Barbakow and screenwriter Andy Siara first about their vision for the film, while Will Mavity comes in later with editor Matt Friedman talking about how the film was shaped. Listen to both interviews below and be sure to check out “Palm Springs” this weekend!
