The European Film Academy has added sixteen further feature films to the European Film Awards’ Feature Film Selection. With the already announced 29 films, the shortlist comprises 45 strong European feature films. They have been selected by the European Film Academy Board and consulted by a diverse range of European invited experts. The nominations for the European Film Awards will be revealed on November 5th.
The European Film Awards honor the greatest achievements in European cinema. This year, the awards ceremony will occur on December 7th in Lucerne. With 28 European countries represented—both EU and non-EU—the selection reflects the great diversity in European cinema.

In the coming weeks, the 5,000 members of the European Film Academy will watch the selected films and vote on the nominations in the categories European Film, European Director, European Actress, European Actor, European Screenwriter and European Documentary. Based on the votes of all members, the nominations will be made public on November 5th, 2024. The members of the European Film Academy will then vote for the winner, which will be announced on December 7th, 2024, in Lucerne.
