Warner Bros. has released the official teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s “Remain,” co-written by Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor, the film is scheduled to be released on February 5, 2027.
Plot Synopsis: When reclusive architect Tate Gordon moves to a small coastal town to complete his latest project, he encounters an alluring young woman who pulls him out of his shell and into the center of a deadly mystery that hangs over the town.
What do you all think of the trailer? As can be expected with M. Night Shyamalan, this looks unnerving, mysterious, and just the right amount of corny. The “otherworldly collaboration” (as the trailer puts it) of Shyamalan and legendary romance novelist Nicholas Sparks is pretty perfectly represented by the trailer – the first half ostensibly seems to be an overly-sentimental relationship drama, before the Shyamalan-style tension is brought to the forefront. Anyone who wishes to have a better understanding of what’s going on here can read the novel of the same name, also by Shyamalan and Sparks. But for those of us Shyamalan fans who are always eager to see what strangeness he has in store, we’ll be eagerly awaiting the release of the film itself to see what the master of suspense has cooked up for us.
