Trailer – “Ferrari”

NEON has released the official trailer for Michael Mann’s “Ferrari” starring Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadon, Gabriel Leone, Jack O’Connell & Patrick Dempsey. The film will have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, and will arrive in theaters on December 25th.

Plot Synopsis: It is the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the faciory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier. Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi. Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.

What do you all think of the trailer? One of the year’s most anticipated films, Michael Mann has not directed a film since the critically mixed reception to 2015’s “Blackhat.” His latest film, “Ferrari,” comes with great anticipation, especially after a bidding war resulting in the largest acquisition NEON has ever made, making this their highest-budgeted film to date. He’s a living legend and is at the point in his career where everyone seems to be aware of that, which has only heightened the movie’s anticipation. The trailer looks to have the same level of technical precision we’d expect Mann to bring to any of his projects. Driver looks to be delivering a subdued performance, and the racing scenes look exhilarating. The film’s festival run at Venice and NYFF has many of us excited, but what do you all think though?
