Plot Synopsis: When his young daughter’s beloved companion — an android named Yang — malfunctions, Jake (Colin Farrell) searches for a way to repair him. In the process, Jake discovers the life that has been passing in front of him, reconnecting with his wife (Jodie Turner-Smith) and daughter across a distance he didn’t know was there.
What do you all think of the trailer? Kogonada follows up his brilliant directorial debut “Columbus,” with the equally brilliant “After Yang,” which I was lucky enough to catch at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The trailer accurately captures the tone and feeling of Kogonada’s film, which asks big questions about mortality, artificial intelligence, the power of love, and more. Featuring awe-inspiring production design, a gorgeous score, a movingly contemplative story, and one of the best performances of Colin Farrell’s career, we highly recommend you check this one out either in theaters or on Showtime (whichever you feel more comfortable with).
