Following the announcement last week that the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) will present a career retrospective on Denis Villeneuve, Warner Bros. Pictures is doing everything in their power to make sure audiences and Academy voters don’t forget about the Oscar-nominated filmmaker and his incredible achievement in bringing Frank Herbert’s epic saga to the big screen with 2021’s “Dune” and this year’s “Dune: Part Two.”
The Toronto International Film Festival will screen both “Dune” “Dune: Part Two” back to back in IMAX on Tuesday September 10th. Afterward, Villeneuve will share insights into the cinematic craftsmanship and collaboration that led to this visionary artistic achievement by discussing the profound and deeply relevant human themes within such an intimate and layered narrative.
The 400-minute long experience will include an introduction from Denis Villeneuve, a screening of “Dune: Part One” a 40-minute intermission, a screening of “Dune: Part Two,” and will close with a Q&A session with Villeneuve, moderated by TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey.
Tickets for this event will only be sold as a single package for both screenings.
