“The Magician’s Elephant” is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Kate DiCamillo and tells the story of a young boy searching for his young lost sister. The Netflix-produced computer-animated film is directed by Wendy Rogers, who previously worked in visual effects before making her feature directorial debut here; written by Martin Hynes, who co-wrote “Toy Story 4” and stars “A Quiet Place” and “Honey Boy” actor Noah Jupe. Noah, Wendy, Kate and producer Julia Pistor were all kind enough to spend some time talking about the film, which is now available to stream on Netflix.
