“The United States vs. Billie Holiday” just recently premiered on Hulu and won its star Andra Day a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. One aspect of the film that has been talked about are the colorful costumes that Andra’s Billie Holiday and the other members of the ensemble wear throughout the film. Costume Designer, Paolo Nieddu (“Empire”), was kind enough to talk to us about the challenges of jumping from television to film, which designs he liked the most, what it was like making costumes for a story that spanned decades and more!
