“The Teachers’ Lounge” premiered at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival, receiving critical acclaim for its direction, writing, and lead performance from Leonie Benesch. It went on to play many other film festivals throughout the year, ultimately receiving Germany’s selection for Best International Feature Film at this year’s Academy Awards.
