“The Mission” had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival and is the follow-up film from co-directing duo Amanda McBaine & Jesse Moss following their work on “Boys State.” The documentary follows the story of John Allen Chau, an American missionary who attempted to make contact with one of the world’s most isolated Indigenous peoples, the Sentinelese. The film has received positive reviews since its premiere and has positioned itself as a serious Best Documentary Feature Oscar contender by National Geographic Documentary Films. Amanda and Jesse were kind enough to spend some time talking with us about their work on the film, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now playing in theaters from Picturehouse. Thank you, and enjoy!
