The Next Best Picture Podcast – Interview With “Past Lives” Composers Christopher Bear & Daniel Rossen

Past Lives” had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where it instantly garnered universal acclaim, with many calling it the best of the festival. It has now gone on to be regarded as one of the year’s best films overall, including winning the Gotham Award for Best Film and receiving nominations from the Critics Choice and Golden Globes for Best Picture. Composers Christopher Bear and Daniel Rossen were kind enough to spend some time talking about their gentle and moving score for the film, which quietly works its way over viewers to elicit an emotional response in a non-manipulative manner. Please be sure to check out the film, which is up for your consideration in all eligible categories, including Best Picture, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song for “Quiet Eyes.” Thank you, and enjoy!
