“Marcel The Shell With Shoes On” premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2021 and received universal acclaim for its story as the viral YouTube internet sensation transitioned to a feature film and the voice acting from Jenny Slate and Isabella Rossellini. A mixture of stop-motion animation and live-action, the film received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film. Producer and writer Elisabeth Holm and Animation Director Kirsten Lepore were kind enough to spend some time talking with us about their work on the film and reflecting on the experience all this time later.
