After months of eager anticipation, the first social media reactions for Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” have arrived following the film’s world premiere in London. While full reviews remain under embargo until July 15th, the initial wave of reactions from journalists invited to the press junket and select critics has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic so far, with many praising the film’s massive scale, practical craftsmanship, use of IMAX cameras, emotional non-linear storytelling, performances from the huge cast, Ludwig Göransson’s score, and Nolan’s ambitious adaptation of Homer’s epic.
