A New Trailer For “Dune: Part Three”

Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s’ “Dune: Part Three” starring Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem. The film will be released in theaters on December 18th.

Plot Synopsis: “Dune: Part Three” is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani at the heart of its unfolding mystery.  As rebellion brews and enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.

Villeneuve directs from a screenplay by Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan, based on the novels written by Frank Herbert.  The film is produced by Oscar nominees Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, and Tanya Lapointe, and Joe Caracciolo, and executive produced by Joshua Grode, Thomas Tull, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson, Richard P. Rubinstein, John Harrison, and Jessica Derhammer.

Joining Villeneuve behind the camera are Oscar-winning director of photography Linus Sandgren, Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette, Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker, Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West, Oscar-nominated casting director Francine Maisler, and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

Warner Bros. Pictures and in China by Legendary East.

What do you all think of the trailer? IT’S SO PEAK!! Seriously. I know everyone is very excited about Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” but for me, this is the film of the year. An epic conclusion to a story I never thought I would ever see fully realized on the big screen, and so far in my opinion, Denis Villeneuve is two for two with his adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi masterpiece. “Dune: Messiah” as a story presents several challenges that may prove to be divisive for some viewers, but Villeneuve looks like he’s done it again here with some of the most mesmerizing visuals and spectacle I’ve ever seen and this is just the second trailer. How can you watch this and not think this will be a huge Oscar contender? I sense this will bring Villeneuve his first Best Director nomination (already embarrassing that he wasn’t nominated for the first two) for the trilogy and it could bring the trilogy to a grand close with Oscar voters culminating in repeat and first-time Oscar wins. I’m just in pure awe. A bit speechless too. I will have more thoughts on this week’s upcoming podcast. But for now, I have so much faith in Villeneuve, and everything we’ve heard from CinemaCon and what we’re seeing here tells me he’s pulled off a miracle and that will be worth celebrating when the film drops in theaters on December 18th. But what do you think, though? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below or on our X account.
